This project was for typography class at university. We had to make a freestyle typography in an "unusual" media. So, I chose blackboard and chalk as the main media. The concept was to make a fun sign for an open house at my campus.
First of all, I made my design using Adobe Illustrator. I chose the fonts, layout and graphic elements.
Secondly, I made the letters using a pencil before finally using a chalk.
Thirdly, I started using the chalk. I tried to fill in my pencil with the chalk, so we can't see the pencil strokes anymore.
Voilà, my chalk lettering is done. I know it's not perfect, but for a newbie in a chalk lettering world, I would say it wasn't too shabby.
